Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Deen Academy's services. Please read them carefully before enrolling or booking a lesson.

Last updated: April 2026  ·  Effective: April 2026

Plain English summary: Book lessons honestly, show up on time, give 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel, pay on time, and treat your teacher with respect. We'll do the same for you. If anything isn't working, talk to us and we'll do our best to sort it out.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By booking a lesson, submitting an enquiry, or enrolling in any course offered by Deen Academy, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

If you are booking on behalf of a minor, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and that you accept these Terms on their behalf.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Our services

Deen Academy provides live, online small group tuition (maximum 4 students per session) in the following subjects:

  • Arabic Language
  • Qa'idah Nooraniyyah
  • Qur'aan Reading
  • Tajweed Rules

All lessons are delivered via video call between the student and a qualified teacher. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of our services at any time, with reasonable notice given to enrolled students.

We make every effort to ensure lessons are delivered as scheduled. In the rare event that a teacher is unable to deliver a lesson, we will reschedule at no additional charge or offer a refund for that lesson.

3. Enrolment and booking

To enrol, you must provide accurate and complete information through our booking form or by contacting us directly. You agree not to provide false information or misrepresent your identity or the identity of the person receiving lessons.

Enrolment is confirmed once we have accepted your booking and, where applicable, received payment. We reserve the right to decline any booking at our discretion.

Lesson scheduling

Lesson times are agreed between you and your teacher. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your preferred schedule, subject to teacher availability. Scheduling is arranged on an ongoing basis and may be adjusted by mutual agreement.

4. Free trial lessons

We offer one free 30-minute 1-to-1 trial lesson per student. The trial lesson is a private session and is subject to the following conditions:

  • One trial lesson per person — duplicate bookings for the same individual are not permitted.
  • The trial lesson is a private 1-to-1 session for the purpose of assessing your level and experiencing our teaching — not for completing a full lesson's worth of curriculum.
  • No payment is required for the trial lesson.
  • We reserve the right to decline or cancel a trial booking if we believe it is being made in bad faith.

Following the trial, you are under no obligation to enrol. If you choose to continue, your teacher will recommend the appropriate course and plan.

5. Payment and billing

Lesson fees

Our current pricing is published on our Pricing page. Fees are payable in advance, either per lesson or on a monthly plan as agreed at enrolment.

Payment methods

We accept payment by bank transfer, card, or other methods as communicated at the time of enrolment. Payment details will be provided upon confirmation of your booking.

Annual billing

Where annual billing is selected, payment is made upfront for the full year at the discounted rate. Annual plans are refundable on a pro-rata basis for unused lessons if you cancel, subject to any applicable administration fee.

Late payment

Lessons may be suspended if payment is significantly overdue. We will always contact you first to resolve any payment issues before taking this step.

6. Cancellation and rescheduling policy

Cancelling or rescheduling a lesson

We understand that life is unpredictable. Our policy is as follows:

  • 24 hours or more notice: You may cancel or reschedule any lesson free of charge.
  • Less than 24 hours notice: The lesson may be counted as used, at the teacher's discretion. Exceptional circumstances (illness, emergencies) will always be considered fairly.
  • No-show: If you do not attend a scheduled lesson without prior notice, that lesson will be counted as used.

Teacher cancellations

If your teacher needs to cancel a lesson, we will give you as much notice as possible and offer a rescheduled lesson or a refund for that session. Teacher cancellations do not count against your lesson allowance.

Cancelling your enrolment

You may cancel your enrolment at any time by contacting us. Refunds for unused lessons will be issued on a pro-rata basis, less any lessons already delivered. No cancellation fees apply.

7. Student conduct

We are committed to providing a respectful, safe, and productive learning environment. By enrolling, you agree to:

  • Treat your teacher with courtesy and respect at all times.
  • Attend lessons on time and prepared.
  • Ensure that the environment during lessons is appropriate — quiet, with a working camera and microphone.
  • Not record lessons without the prior consent of your teacher.
  • Not share lesson recordings, materials, or resources with third parties without permission.

We reserve the right to terminate the enrolment of any student whose conduct is disrespectful, abusive, or otherwise inappropriate. In such cases, a pro-rata refund for unused lessons will be provided.

Children's lessons

For lessons involving minors, a parent or guardian must be available (though not necessarily present on screen) during the lesson. The parent or guardian is responsible for ensuring the child is in a safe and appropriate environment.

8. Materials and intellectual property

Lesson notes, resources, worksheets, and other materials provided by Deen Academy are for your personal use as a student only. You may not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit these materials without our written permission.

The Deen Academy name, logo, and website content are the intellectual property of Deen Academy. Unauthorised use is prohibited.

9. Limitation of liability

Deen Academy provides tuition services on a best-efforts basis. While we are committed to the highest quality of teaching, we cannot guarantee specific outcomes or learning milestones within a particular timeframe, as progress depends on many factors including the student's effort and practice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Deen Academy's liability for any claim arising from these Terms or our services is limited to the total amount paid for lessons in the three months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from use of our services.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the enrolment at any time. You may do so by contacting us; we may do so by giving you reasonable notice, except where immediate termination is required due to conduct issues (see section 7).

Upon termination, any outstanding lessons will be refunded on a pro-rata basis. Any outstanding payments will remain due.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

We will always try to resolve any disputes informally first. If you have a concern or complaint, please contact us directly and we will do our best to resolve it fairly and promptly.
