About Deen Academy

Rooted in tradition.
Built for the modern world.

Deen Academy was founded with a single, clear purpose — to make authentic Islamic education accessible to every Muslim, wherever they are in the world.

We believe that learning Arabic and reading the Qur'ān should not be a privilege limited by geography or circumstance. With the right teachers, the right structure, and sincere intention, every student can develop a deep and lasting connection with their deen.

Our motto — Deen Before Dunya — is not just a phrase. It is the principle that shapes every lesson we teach and every decision we make.

الإخلاص
Sincerity — Al-Ikhlas
Every lesson is taught with sincerity of purpose — for the sake of Allah, not for status or recognition.
الأمانة
Trustworthiness — Al-Amanah
We are entrusted with conveying sacred knowledge accurately and with care — a responsibility we take seriously.
الإتقان
Excellence — Al-Itqan
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Allah loves that when one of you does a job, he does it with itqan." We strive for that in everything we do.
الرحمة
Compassion — Ar-Rahmah
We meet every student where they are — with patience, kindness, and genuine care for their progress and wellbeing.

Knowledge is an obligation, not a luxury.

The Prophet ﷺ said: "Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim." At Deen Academy, we take this seriously. Our mission is to remove every barrier that stands between a Muslim and their ability to learn — whether that barrier is distance, time, or lack of access to a qualified teacher.

We offer live, small group online tuition — with a maximum of 4 students per session — in Arabic language and Qur'ānic studies to students of all ages and backgrounds, from complete beginners who do not know a single letter, to those who read well but wish to perfect their Tajweed and deepen their understanding.

We are a small academy — and that is by design. We prioritise quality over scale, personal attention over mass enrolment, and genuine progress over certificates and metrics.

دِينٌ قَبْلَ الدُّنْيَا
"Deen Before Dunya"

The motto of Deen Academy — a reminder that our priorities as Muslims must always begin with our faith, our knowledge, and our relationship with Allah and His Book.

How Deen Academy began

Deen Academy began not as a business plan, but as a response to a need — a recognition that too many Muslims around the world wanted to learn Arabic and the Qur'ān but could not find accessible, trustworthy, and high-quality teaching.

١
The Beginning
A shared vision, a sincere intention
Shaeeb and Umm Muādh, both having studied Arabic and Islamic sciences abroad, recognised how many Muslims — particularly in the West — struggled to access qualified Islamic education. Many were reading the Qur'ān incorrectly for years simply because they had no access to proper teaching. Deen Academy was founded to change that.
٢
The Approach
Online — but never impersonal
From the very beginning, the academy was built around small group live lessons — a maximum of 4 students per session. Not recorded videos, not large impersonal classes — but focused, personal teaching in an intimate group where the teacher can listen, correct, and guide every student. This remains the heart of how we teach today.
٣
Growing Together
Building a community of learners
Our student community has grown steadily — not through advertising, but through word of mouth, through parents telling other parents, through students who saw real results and shared their experience. Every student who joins Deen Academy becomes part of a community united by a love of learning and a commitment to their deen.
٤
Today
Small. Focused. Committed.
We remain a small, focused academy. With 15+ active students, 2 qualified teachers, and a 98% student satisfaction rate, we are proud of what we have built — and we are just getting started. Our ambition is not to become the biggest, but to remain the best at what we do.

Meet the people behind every lesson

Every lesson at Deen Academy is taught by one of our two qualified teachers. There are no outsourced tutors, no rotating staff — just Shaeeb and Umm Muādh, both deeply committed to the success of every student they teach.

Umm Muādh is particularly experienced in teaching female students and young learners, bringing warmth, rigour, and genuine care to every session. Her students consistently describe her as an inspiring and transformative teacher.

Our values as an academy

These are not corporate values written for a website — they are the principles that genuinely guide how we teach, how we communicate, and how we serve our students.

العلم النافع
Beneficial Knowledge
We teach knowledge that benefits — knowledge that draws a student closer to Allah, strengthens their prayer, and enriches their daily life as a Muslim.
الصبر
Patience
Learning takes time. Every student progresses at their own pace. Our teachers are trained to meet students where they are — never rushing, never dismissing a question, always encouraging.
الأصالة
Authenticity
We transmit knowledge as it has been taught and preserved for centuries — with proper chains of learning and deep respect for the tradition we are part of.
الوضوح
Clarity
Complex concepts are broken down into clear, accessible steps. We believe that any student — regardless of background — can understand and master Arabic and Tajweed when it is taught well.
المسؤولية
Accountability
We hold ourselves accountable to our students' progress. If something is not working, we adapt. We never settle for a student who is stuck.
الإتاحة
Accessibility
Good Islamic education should not be limited to those who live near a masjid with qualified scholars. We bring qualified teaching directly to students wherever they are in the world.

Our approach to every lesson

We have thought carefully about how adults and children learn best, and built our teaching method around what genuinely works — not what is easiest to deliver at scale.

01
Small groups — always a maximum of 4
Every lesson is a live small group session with a maximum of 4 students. This intimate format gives every student personal attention and immediate feedback while creating a supportive environment — the teacher can hear every student read and correct pronunciation in real time.
02
Assessment before you begin
Your free trial is a private, 1-to-1 lesson — not a group session. It is a genuine assessment of your current level. Your teacher will listen carefully, identify exactly where you are, and recommend the right course and starting point. You will never be placed in a programme that is wrong for you.
03
Structured, but flexible
We follow a clear curriculum for each course — ensuring systematic progression and no gaps in knowledge. But within that structure, your teacher adapts every lesson to your pace, your questions, and your particular areas of difficulty. No two lessons are identical.
04
Regular feedback and reporting
Progress does not happen by accident. After every lesson your teacher provides notes and areas to practise. At regular intervals you receive a formal progress report — tracking what you have mastered, what needs work, and what comes next on your journey.
05
Designed for a global community
Our students are based in the UK, Europe, North America, and beyond. Lessons are delivered via video at times that suit your schedule and time zone — morning, afternoon, or evening. All you need is an internet connection and the intention to learn.
